5 Strategic Goals for Social Sellers in Q2 to Beat the Summer Slump

With Q2 right around the corner, I wanted to talk about setting goals. The second quarter of the year can be amazing... I mean it is spring after all! Kids are still in school and everyone has cabin fever, making it a great time to reach out and get some parties booked.

Social sellers are presented with a unique opportunity to set targeted goals that will propel their businesses forward, and set you up for the potential slowdown that often accompanies the summer months.

To navigate through this period successfully, it's essential to create a clear roadmap with actionable objectives. Here are five strategic goals for social sellers to consider, along with small actions to help you achieve them:

TIP

Grab a beverage, turn on some music and set an alarm for 15-30 minutes. Use this time to jot down things you'd like to accomplish in Q2.

“All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim, have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible.”  - —Orison Swett Marden

Expand Your Network

Goal: Increase your network by X% by the end of Q2. Make this fit your business and what would be ideal for you.

Action:

  • Connect with a minimum of five new potential clients or collaborators per week through social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram.
  • Go through your contacts from past parties or events and send them a "Happy Spring" message. Invite them to join your Facebook Group or wherever you share contact regularly.

Diversify Your Content Strategy:

Goal: Create diverse content across multiple platforms to enhance engagement and reach. You don't need to stretch yourself thin. Keep it simple. Facebook and Instagram can easily be duplicated.

Action:

  • Experiment with different content formats such as videos, single photo posts, carousels or live streams to keep your audience engaged and attract new followers.
  • Allocate specific time slots each week to engage with your audience through comments, direct messages, or polls to create a sense of community and increase brand loyalty.

Boost Customer Engagement and Retention:

Goal: Increase customer engagement and improve retention rates by providing exceptional customer service. Everyone loves great customer service and it will make it easy for your clients to naturally want to refer you.

Action:

  • Implement a loyalty program or offer exclusive promotions to reward repeat customers or Facebook group clients and encourage them to make additional purchases.
  • Ask for feedback from customers through surveys or polls. This can help you to identify areas for improvement and tailor your products or services to better meet their needs.

Enhance Your Product Knowledge and Expertise:

Goal: Become a trusted authority in your niche by expanding your product knowledge and expertise.

Action:

  • Dedicate time each week to research industry trends, and customer preferences to stay informed and ahead of the curve.
  • Use the products you sell so you will be able to give honest feedback to your customers. If money is tight, invest in one product at a time that will be staying in your catalog of products. Stay away from limited edition items that may not be around very long.
  • Invest in training from your company to grow your understanding of your products or services and improve your mission statement to potential customers.

Optimize Time Management and Productivity:

Goal: Improve efficiency and productivity by implementing time management strategies.

Action:

  • Utilize productivity tools such as a planner or apps to organize tasks, set priorities, and track progress towards your goals. Trello is one of my favorite free apps you can use for this.
  • Block out specific time slots each day for focused work, client meetings, and personal development activities to minimize distractions and maximize productivity. This can be hard for stay at home moms but do your best to incorporate this even in small time slots throughout the day.

By setting goals and taking small steps to achieve them, we'll be ready to tackle any summer slowdown that comes our way. Keep that positive mindset going, stay focused, and let's crush it together this Q2!
